The notorious Tsukuyomi group has no intention of letting Tatsumaki escape Psykos. It’s clear from the previous two chapters that the organization wants Psykos for her third eye.

Chapter 176 gives a brief introduction to her ability to see the future. And she alone can tell us what awaits humanity. The Tsukuyomi gang wants to probe this future in pursuit of their secret goals. Also, the flashback panel suggests that Psykos became deranged and joined the devil due to this dark future. The title of One Punch Man Chapter 176 is ‘Epicenter’. This chapter opens with a cover featuring Psykos and Fubuki in their high school uniforms. The console then switches to a flashback of Psykos telling Fubuki that their supernatural research organization has merged with their rival group, the Invisible Hand. After she returned to the library, Psykos began to look into the Third Eye. She managed to pull it out and control the power. It all started when she started seeing the future in her sleep. Suddenly, the Psykos were no longer interested in reaching the top, but instead wanted to wipe out the entire race.

The veins in her face emerged, a clear sign of God’s involvement in her life. Flashback to high school, the focus shifts to their conflict in the Garou section. Fubuki defeated her and took her into his arms. She asked about the future that Psykos foresaw. However, they are immediately shrunk by a giant cloud-like network of ‘veins’. Even Fubuki now began to feel the presence of God among them. The board moves to the current date at headquarters. Fubuki and Saitama burst into the meeting with Tsukuyomi. The team reveals that Psykos is now their property. But Fubuki warned that Tatsumaki would soon break into the Headquarters and kill Psykos.

Tsukuyomi and Fubuki fight while Tatsumaki makes his first appearance after many chapters. In fact, Tatsumaki was just pretending to kill Psykos. She wanted to keep herself from falling into the hands of the group. This is the same group that put her in prison and used her as a test subject. There is much speculation by readers as to how Murata will engage with all of the plot themes. In the webcomics, Tatsumaki decided to kill Psykos at the facility. On the contrary, she only acts to save her from Tsukuyomi’s trap in the manga plot. It’s clear that Murata doesn’t play by ONE’s rules. Or perhaps he’s fixing some plot holes to improve the story.

Webcomic fans wouldn’t expect Tatsumaki to ask Fubuki for help to save Psykos. So the manga is making her a likable character.
