Garo is undeniably the greatest villain of One-Punch Man. His outstanding ability to become stronger during and after each fight gives him an edge over other opponents of the series. Garo has successfully defeated many monsters and swept the floor with many S-Class heroes. Chapter 160 proves that despite all of this, Garo has not yet reached the peak of his power as he has a completely new transformation.
When the hero of the story confronts him for the last time, Garo is reminded of the impenetrable wall that is Saitama. At the time, Garo had just defeated Centisennin while Saitama dealt with Evil Ocean Water. He initially attacked Bald Cape to teach him a lesson, but was knocked out by a reflex punch. Garo is then reminded of the many times they’ve met in the past, and unsurprisingly he’s now looking to defeat his most powerful foe.
After realizing Saitama’s true strength, Garo unleashed a series of attacks on the iconic One-Punch Man hero. However, Saitama easily dodged all of them. Seeing that none of his attacks hit the mark, Garo unleashed his own style and struck Saitama in the head with the same chop that killed Centisennin.
Saitama attacked directly, then jumped in to retaliate. As a result, Garo’s hot palm shattered. Hero Hunter immediately regenerates his lost hand and attacks again when the hero is saying that he still has something to say to the monster. Annoyed at the interruption, Saitama punched Garo, causing the latter to miss several hundred meters.
Once again reminded of how strong Saitama really is, Garo pondered the fact that he faced his biggest obstacle just before completing his goal. His anger was empowered, allowing him to have another transformation. Garo’s appearance becomes more sinister as he grows in size and thorns grow from his shoulders. Increasingly jagged, his teeth are now more monster-like than human. Interestingly, he still retains a small crack that reveals part of his human face.
One of Garo’s most notable traits is his ability to accumulate exponential power. Given that his previous form was able to eliminate a being as powerful as Centisennin, the strength level of his new form was a cause for surprise. It remains to be seen whether Garo can match Saitama’s powers, but it’s also unknown if he can deal some real damage to the nearly invincible hero.
This isn’t the first time Garo has undergone a transformation and it most likely won’t be the last. Saitama’s confidence in being able to take on Garo’s attacks reassures people that the monster is still far from posing a threat to the bald man. Even so, a buffed Garo means a more epic fight for One-Punch Man fans to enjoy.
