Kodoani.com – In the January issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Flowers magazine, it was announced that the manga “Poe no Ichizoku: Ao no Pandora” (The Poe Clan: Blue Pandora) by Moto Hagio will be on hiatus until “sometime early next summer.” The manga began serializing in Flowers magazine in May 2022 and is the fourth sequel to the main manga series , set in Munich, Germany in 2016.
The original “The Poe Clan” is a fantasy work revolving around Edgar, a young vampire who has lived for over 200 years, and short stories revolving around his life. The setting of this series is Europe during the 19th and 20th centuries. Shogakukan published five manga volumes between 1974 and 1976.
Moto Hagio serialized two new chapters for the manga titled “Poe no Ichizoku: Haru no Yume” in Monthly Flowers magazine in May 2016 and May 2017. A compilation booklet for these new chapters was published. published in July 2017.
The “Poe no Ichizoku Unicorn” series began appearing in Monthly Flowers magazine in May 2018, but went on hiatus in July 2018 and continued in March 2019. The series ends with the fourth chapter in May 2019, and a compilation volume was published in July 2019.
“Poe no Ichizoku: Himitsu no Hanazono” (The Poe Clan: The Secret Garden) debuted in May 2019, and the first part of the first chapter announced the manga’s hiatus. The manga continued in June 2020, and the second and final volume of the season was published in November 2021.
The manga has been adapted for many projects, including a live-action television series and a stage play by the Takarazuka Revue. Fantagraphics Books is releasing the original manga in English.
