Summary
Pikachu’s refusal to evolve into Raichu hindering its fighting abilities is a limitation to its power, but it has proven its strength numerous times. Charizard is one of Ash’s most famous and memorable Pokémon, and despite their initial disobedience and defiance, their bond has grown stronger over the years. Greninja, with its unique form, Ash-Greninja, is one of Ash’s strongest Pokémon and has a close relationship with him, although Ash’s decision to release it remains controversial.
Ash Ketchum is the main character of Pokémon The anime ran for 1,232 episodes, in which he traveled far and wide throughout the Pokémon world. He visited eight major regions of the Pokémon world, during which time he caught 78 Pokémon, including his 30 Tauros. The Pokémon he caught in each region varied greatly, and in each land he visited, Ash built an entirely new team. However, with all the Pokémon teams named after him, which of Ash’s Pokémon is his best in each region?
Out of all of Ash’s Pokémon, some are definitely more memorable than others. When it comes to the best, Charizard and Greninja are both strong contenders. However, the matter is too subjective to claim that one Pokémon is better than all the others. However, with each new area Ash visits, certain Pokémon immediately stand out, becoming important members of his team and earning a place among his most valuable allies. Now that Ash’s journey has come to an end, which Pokémon stands out the most in each area he visits?
9 honorable mentions: Pikachu
Pikachu is not only Ash’s best friend and closest companion, but also one of his strongest Pokémon. Pikachu’s journey is not smooth and he goes through many changes throughout the anime. Starting in Black & White, he somewhat regressed to a weaker state without much explanation. However, in the most recent seasons, Pikachu has once again become an impressive and formidable Pokémon.
However, its power still has limitations, and Pikachu’s refusal to evolve into Raichu is said to have hindered its fighting abilities. Pikachu is a permanent character on Ash’s team, and Pikachu has proven its strength many times, such as during the Lily of the Valley conference when facing Tobias’s Latios, or in Ash’s final match with Leon. in the Masters’ Eight tournament.
8 Kanto: Charizard
Arguably Ash’s most famous Pokémon besides Pikachu, Charizard’s journey with his trainer is one of the oldest. It first appeared as an abandoned Charmander, starting a trend of Ash’s Fire beginners being dropped by other trainers. It then evolves into a spirited Charmeleon before reaching its final stage. As Charizard, the Pokémon initially refuses to obey Ash and sometimes even actively challenges him. Over the years, they became closer and Charizard returned to support Ash even after they broke up in “Charizard’s Burning Ambition”. Charizard famously fought Entei in the third Pokémon movie, although it was part of an illusion created by Unown.
Ash and Charizard parted ways when he left Charizard for the Charicific Valley, a canyon where many Charizards lived, to train and grow stronger. Ash eventually reunited with Charizard and Charizard resided in Professor Oak’s Laboratory until the end of the series.
Top 7: Heracross
Heracross was the first Pokémon Ash caught in Johto. The Bug/Fighting-type quickly became one of his main Pokémon, and Ash used it in the Lily of the Valley conference against Tobias’s Darkrai, where it performed quite well, although it was unable to win. position. Ash also used it during the climactic battle with Gary Oak at the Silver Conference. Heracross defeated Gary’s Magmar before succumbing to his Blastoise.
Heracross is eager to fight but easily distracted. Its love for tree sap is a running joke in the series, and it often sucks the sap out of Bulbasaur’s bulbs, much to the Seed Pokémon’s annoyance. Heracross rejoins Ash’s team one last time in “Ride, Lapras, Ride!”, where it helps free the trapped Wailmer. Heracross, like Charizard, is shown to be residing in Professor Oak’s Laboratory at the end of the series.
6 Hoenn: skeptical
Sceptile wasn’t the first starting Grass Ash possessed, but it was easily the strongest. After all, his Bulbasaur never evolved and his Chikorita only reached Bayleef. Therefore, Sceptile is the second fully evolved starter that Ash possesses after Charizard. One of Ash’s gentlest Pokémon, Sceptile always appears calm and collected, even as Treecko. It is very proud and stubborn, qualities that make it even braver in battle. Sceptile memorably defeated Tobias’s Darkrai, cementing its place as one of Ash’s most impressive Pokémon.
Sceptile was valuable in training Ash’s Sirfetch’d before they entered the Masters’ Eight tournament, and rejoined Ash’s team one last time in “The Road Most Traveled!”, where it helped protect Latias injured. Like Charizard and Heracross, Sceptile was last seen at Professor Oak’s Laboratory, along with many of Ash’s other Pokémon.
5 Sinnoh: Hell
Like Charmander, Chimchar was abandoned by its former trainer, Paul. Hurt yet inspired, it joins Ash on a journey that will ultimately transform him into his trainer’s strongest Sinnoh Pokémon. Chimchar is one of the most expressive Pokémon in the anime and cried more than once during his early days with Ash. As Infernape, and whenever it uses Blaze, it becomes frantic and out of control. It even hurt Ash, and it took a lot of effort for the trainer to calm the fire monkey down. Infernape also has a similar personality to its trainer, as both it and Ash always seek out trainers stronger than themselves.
In Journeys, Infernape has a standout episode, “Advice to Goh,” where it wants to challenge Moltres to battle. While Infernape was ultimately no match for the Legendary Pokémon, it did give fans a little more time with this fan-favorite Pokémon. Infernape joins Ash’s team one last time in “Rocket Revengers!”, where it helps defend Pikachu against Team Rocket’s massive attack using all of their previous Pokémon. Like most of Ash’s other signature Pokémon, Infernape was last seen living at Professor Oak’s Laboratory, along with many of Ash’s other Pokémon.
4 You become: Pignite
Ash’s Unova team isn’t the most memorable. Although he captured all the starters, only one evolved, but it never reached its final form. Like Chimchar and Charizard before him, Tepig’s old coach also lost it. It willingly goes with Ash after he shows it kindness, but is still unsure of itself. It evolved into Pignite during the battle against its former master, Seamus, as a result of which its self-esteem improved, even becoming somewhat vain. Pignite also shares Ash’s deep admiration for Charizard and his friendly rivalry with Infernape. Pignite never rejoined Ash’s team and now resides in Professor Oak’s Laboratory, where it lives with Ash’s other Fire-type Pokémon.
3 Kalos: Greninja
Unlike Unova, Ash has a lot of iconic Pokémon in Kalos. Goodra, Noivern, and Talonflame are all excellent, but Greninja comes out on top. Although his personality is not apparent, Greninja is one of Ash’s strongest Pokémon ever and has a very strong bond with him. This bond eventually allowed it to take on a unique form, known as Ash-Greninja. It takes a while for both trainer and Pokémon to master this form, because Ash also feels physical pain every time Greninja is damaged.
Ash’s decision to release Greninja in “Facing the Needs of the Many!” is still controversial in the community, but the spirit of Pokémon still lives on in the hearts of fans. Greninja reappears in the Journey episode “Capture the Aura of Fate!”, where it helps train Ash’s Lucario how to use his Aura ability. At the end of the series, Greninja resides in the Kalos region, where it works to defeat the evil sources that threaten the safety of the region.
Because it debuted in Pokémon GO, Melmetal and its pre-evolution, Meltan, are unknown to most players. The Pokémon anime, often at odds with the games, has many Meltans living in the wild, one of which eventually joins Ash’s team. It evolves into Melmetal after merging with the wild Meltan group, greatly increasing its power. A curious and independent Pokémon, Melmetal constantly wanders off, much to Ash’s frustration. It also tends to act on its own, even in battle.
Melmetal is the first and only Mythical Pokémon owned by Ash. After Ash left the Alola region, he left many of his Pokémon, including Melmetal, with Professor Kukui, so that the Professor could further research on rare Pokémon. Although Melmetal encountered Ash a few times, it never rejoined his team and remained with Professor Kukui.
1 Galar:Dracovish
Dracovish is a very strange Pokémon. Of course, it’s a combination of two errant fossils but its personality is as strange as its appearance. Like James’s Victreebel, Dracovish also likes to bite Ash’s head as a sign of affection. Despite its caring and kind nature, Dracovish is a very resilient and strong Pokémon. It defeated Iris’s powerful Dragonite, cementing Ash’s position as the Galarian trump card. Dracovish also appeared in the Masters’ Eight tournament, where it fought against Leon’s Dragapult and demonstrated a strange new ability that helped it (and Ash) win.
After being named World Champion, Ash left Dracovish and the rest of his Journey group at Professor Oak’s Laboratory, intending to explore many of his Pokémon during his adventures. save for the future. Therefore, Dracovish remained living at the Laboratory until the series ended.
Although Ash has strong bonds with many of his Pokémon, the Pokémon listed above have proven to be some of his most trusted allies on his journey. Most of these Pokémon are not only willing but eager to evolve and become stronger, and their enthusiasm for fighting mirrors Ash’s enthusiasm. With such complementary personalities, it’s no surprise that these Pokémon stand out as the closest to Ash and the most valuable in battle. Ash’s journey may be over, but so are the relationships he built along the way Pokémon anime serves as a testament to the qualities that ultimately helped Ash become World Champion.
