Darkrai appeared briefly in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games, but does it have a chance to return in the future again?
Darkrai is now out of the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games, but does that mean it’s officially gone forever? Due to being a Legendary Pokémon, Darkrai can only be obtained through external means, the Member Card (short-lived) being the main method of obtaining it in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon games. Shining Pearl. Arceus and Darkrai appeared in this game as part of the events, but the Darkrai event is now long over and the road to Newmoon Island is closed.
Previously, we could get the Member Card in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games through the Mystery Gift event. Once the player has defeated the Four Heavenly Kings and the Champion, they will earn the National Dex. With the National Dex in hand, the player can use the Member Card to enter the Inn in Canalave City, then sleep on one of the beds there. Doing so will allow us to travel to Newmoon Island, where the player can face Darkrai in battle and then attempt to capture it.
Darkrai can certainly be caught in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games, but the Member Card event is now closed, just like the Shaymin event, as Professor Oak’s Letter stopped being distributed through Mystery Gift at the beginning of this year. The Azure Flute item for Arceus is still in the game, as unlocking it requires the player to own the Pokémon Legends: Arceus title, which saves data with all completed quests, so this looks like Forever part of the game! Visiting Newmoon Island to meet and capture Darkrai might not be happening right now, but is it possible that The Pokémon Company will bring it back in the future, to give other trainers a chance to battle with This legendary Pokémon?
It is currently unlikely that Darkrai will return in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl titles
Now it’s unlikely that Darkrai will return to the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games. Because usually, events involving Legendary Pokémon only happen once and then never happen again. This is part of FOMO’s approach to the series, to encourage fans to buy the title as soon as possible, as the chances of getting rare Pokémon like Darkrai are pretty low. It is possible that Darkrai will be given away directly as part of the Mystery Gift event in a few years, but the Member Card event is actually a bit unlikely.
Even if the Member Card event is no longer in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games, players still have a chance to obtain Darkrai through other means. It is possible to trade this creature from another player, for example, and it is likely that there are many players who have grown bored of Darkrai after a long time using it. After the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl titles join Pokémon Home, players will be able to trade in from another game in the franchise, sounds interesting, right? If the Pokémon Legends: Arceus game also joins Pokémon Home in the future, it’s even more of an easy way to get Darkrai, as it’s possible to unlock battles with the creature by saving Pokémon game data.
