With the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokémon franchise is celebrating one of its most important milestones. The series has 1,008 Pokémon to date, each with its own design and characteristics.
The official Pokémon YouTube channel is celebrating the achievement with an 8-minute 44-second video showcasing each and every creature, from the original black and white Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games in Japan to the current generation. . At the end of the video it asks: “Did you catch them all?”

Pokémon is a Japanese media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, founded by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996 and revolves around cute fictional creatures known as “Pokémon”. In Pokémon, a Pokémon Trainer is someone who captures, trains, cares for, and battles Pokémon. The English tagline of the franchise is “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”. There are currently 1,008 Pokémon.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launches on Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 18.
