A new trailer and release date for the next Pokémon movie have been revealed, which features a new Zarude that can talk to humans.
A movie Pokémon just got the surprising talkative Zarude coming out on Netflix on October 8th.
Pokémon: Secrets of the Jungle witnessed Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu explore a vast forest full of Pokémon. There they meet Koko, a boy abandoned in the forest as an infant and raised by a wild, talking Zarude whom he calls “Dada.” Ash, Koko, and the forest’s native Pokemon must work together to protect the area from a greedy research company trying to take over the forest’s resources, including a miracle cure.
The Secrets of the Jungle soundtrack will feature two original songs, “Always Safe” and “No Matter What,” by American singer/songwriter Cyn. Cyn has previously sung the opening vocals for Katy Perry and has had songs included on the soundtracks of films such as Birds of Prey and on the Netflix series To All the Boys: PS I Still Love You.
Pokémon Sword and Shield gamers will be able to find their own “Dada” Zarude by subscribing to the Pokémon Trainer Club’s email newsletter. A special shiny Celebi will also be distributed to celebrate the film’s premiere. Pokemon was previously released in Japan to theatergoers who had pre-booked tickets to see the film’s premiere. A promotion tied to Pokémon Go will also be announced at a later date.
Pokemon: Secrets of the Jungle is the twenty-third film in the seemingly eternally popular Pokémon franchise, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The next season of the main Pokémon anime will also premiere on Netflix this fall, and The Pokémon Company will also launch a new series, Pokemon Evolutions, featuring characters and Pokémon from all eight generations of the Game.
The game continues to celebrate the series’ big anniversary with the release of several new releases. In addition to the long-awaited new Pokémon Snap and the online Pokémon Unite MOBA, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will also release remakes on the DS Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl this November. Those games will follow up with the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is being developed in-house at Game Freak, the developer that created the original Pokémon game. Arceus represents the next evolution of the franchise and features new combat mechanics and an all-new open-world style structure for players to explore. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch this January.
