Ishakan and Leah ran into Count Obrede during a night out in the previous chapter. Readers are curious to know whether Leah will be entangled in a Predatory Marriage, Chapter 16.
Ishakan takes Leah away from her castle. She thought he had caught her, but she felt happy. Ishakan knew that Estia Leah’s silver hair showed that she came from a royal family.
Leah didn’t expect that he would take her there. Ishakan lent her his cloak so that others wouldn’t notice her. It would be dangerous for them if rumors about her started spreading around and someone followed them. Ishakan informed her that he wanted to tour the empire.
But a rural tribesman like him didn’t know much about the empire. That’s why he thought it would be a good idea to bring Leah along. Leah couldn’t believe he’d snuck into the castle just for that reason.
Ishakan told her that it was not a big problem for him because he was used to sneaking into enemy bases. Leah told him that he had to be very brave to do that.
She mentioned that it was quite a bold move for Ishakan, as things could have gone very wrong for him. Leah tells him that she is safe because she snuck out of the castle earlier.
However, there will be a party in Ishakan’s honor early in the morning. Ishakan promised her that he would drop her off at the castle before sunrise.
He mentions that, until then, she must stay with him. This was Leah’s first time going to such a place and she wondered if people went there every day.
Summarize
Ishakan gave her some snacks and Leah was happy to try them. But Ishakan was a bit surprised because he thought that Leah wouldn’t eat anything unless he gave her something.
Leah had to wear the dress Serdina had prepared for her, and she thought she shouldn’t eat anything after suffering so much because of it.
Because she would gain weight after eating, she decided to eat one piece. It was delicious, salty, and sweet, so in the end she ate it all.
Ishakan was curious if the Estia royal family had no money. He believes that selling just one painting in the villa is enough to buy food for Leah.
After finishing eating, Leah realized that she should not have finished eating. Ishakan told her that she shouldn’t worry too much about eating some snacks.
Leah told him that she had to wear a dress for the party, and Ishakan assured her that she would fit into it. Leah was wondering why Ishakan kept wanting to break down her defenses.
She didn’t understand why he always tried to see through her. Leah wants to know if Ishakan is really good for her or if he just wants her as a companion.
Ishakan told her that she could talk to him freely when it was just the two of them. She didn’t need to act like a princess, but because Leah had lived her whole life like that. She wasn’t sure if it was okay to lower her guard.
