The Rascal Does Not Dream franchise is continuing its spring-themed seasonal visual series featuring Shoko Makinohara. These images are leading up to a special exhibition for the University Arc anime that will begin on March 12 and run until March 24.
The first illustration is a summer one: it features Mai Sakurajima. Rio Futaba appears during the fall, while Kaede Azusagawa appears during the winter.
Rascal Doesn’t Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. Publishing began in April 2014 and is still ongoing. It also received a manga adaptation by Tsugumi Nanamiya, which ran from December 2015 to 2018.
The franchise features a 13-episode anime television series adapted by studio CloverWorks, as well as three subsequent films:
- Rascal doesn’t dream about a dreaming girl
- Rascal did not dream of his sister venturing out
- Rascal did not dream of a child wearing a backpack
Yen Press licensed the novel Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid and describes the plot as follows: March has arrived, which means the third semester is only a month away. Mai’s graduation ceremony has come and gone. It may be time for a change, but that’s not nearly enough to explain why Sakuta met a little girl who looked exactly like Mai when she was a child actress. Before he could begin to unravel this new mystery, his father called. Their families haven’t lived together since Kaede was bullied. Two years later, their mother said she wanted to meet her daughter. What has changed and what has stayed the same? There’s only one way to find out…
