With the conditions of use in Vietnam with a humid and dusty climate, there are many types of mechanical key switches that will get stuck or double click very annoying, to help gamers avoid this situation, some NSX have launched very interesting optics. And at the forefront of that is the Huntsman V2 TKL Optical from the famous Razer. The following are images of the product unboxing as well as some experiences when using this optical mechanical gaming keyboard.
The Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical has a rich set of accessories with a removable parachute cord, a luxurious PU leather-covered soft palm rest, and an instruction manual. It would be better if the green snake company equipped with a keypuller to replace the keycap.
The design of this keyboard is quite familiar to gamers when it has an 80% layout like its name TKL, simply omitting the number key cluster to become neater and lighter. The switches are attached to the plate cum top, creating a stronger feel and shine in the dark better.
The build quality of the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical is very good with sturdy plastic material. The bottom side is quite interesting with the phrase “By Gamer. For Gamer” in shadow to create its own highlight.
The keyboard is equipped with 2 kickstand steps to increase the slope to make typing less tiring.
You can also find a USB type C connector in the upper corner, it fits snugly with the included cord, but if you like colorful custom cables (like me), you can still use it comfortably.
As introduced at the beginning, this keyboard uses an advanced optical switch and it is very different from the traditional ones that use Cherry’s design. Specifically, the appearance of the buttons of the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical is large with a small iron bar to create balance.
Of course, on the inside is also a completely different operating mechanism with optical signal reception rather than a traditional contact mechanism. Because it is difficult to remove the switch separately to scratch the line, I will not go into this detail anymore. NSX says this switch has a lifespan of up to 100,000 clicks and is never double clicked due to moisture or dust.
Interestingly, the switch of the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical can still use the popular keycap because the stem head is still the traditional + sign. In addition, in terms of images, the light above dissipates very well, passing through the double shot keycap is easy and beautiful, which gamers who love the “flicker” cannot ignore.
Users can change the color of the entire keyboard according to the theme they like or let the “color run” mode… easily by changing the effects in Razer’s software. In fact, there are so many different options that are extremely rich, so it takes a lot of time to choose.
Stabilizer – the balance bar on this keyboard uses a clip-on type that means the stem will separate and be lightly attached to the metal bar (wire), when the long key is removed, it will follow, so you will need to replace the keycap pay close attention.
The experience of using the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical in practice is very good, especially in gaming, it is perfect. The optical switch in the keyboard I experienced is a purple color, with a clear clicky and clicky sound.
The sound when typing is quite small, which is pleasant to the ears and not too noisy, this is a combination of the switch itself and the internal sound-absorbing pad. Good button bounce, short travel of only 1.5mm combined with light force, extremely fast response speed creates the feeling that the character moves immediately at the touch of a key, very suitable for action and shooting games. as well as those who have a habit of quick combo skills.
The feeling of typing on the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL Optical is not very pleasing to the hand because the journey is short, so it feels a bit tight, but typing quickly through is fine. In addition, the long buttons that are not ticked are a big plus for this keyboard.
In addition, the keyboard’s palm rest is very smooth, helping users to type or play games for a long time without feeling uncomfortable!
