Lawyer Nguyen Thi Diem Phuong – the legal representative of Professor Michiko Yoshii, said that she had sent a letter to ask the producer Em and Trinh to apologize for using her image in the film without asking for permission. The lawyer said that the professor sent a letter to ask the producer Em and Trinh to apologize for no other purpose. Professor Michiko just wants to receive a public apology from the producer. However, as of the afternoon of September 15, the film producer has yet to respond.
According to the lawyer, during the making of the film, the producer had never contacted the professor once. And the fact that the film gives details about the character’s personal life Michiko greatly affects the professor’s life. In the coming time, specifically a week from September 13, producers Em and Trinh must have an official apology to the professor. After this time, if there is no apology, the professor will file a lawsuit in court.
The film producer also responded: “We just received a letter from Professor Michiko this morning. The producer is working and will have a response soon.”
This is not the first time that producers Em and Trinh have encountered bad feedback from real-life “prototypes”. Singer Khanh Ly and singer Thanh Thuy have also bluntly voiced the details in the film that are not true to their lives.
