Capcom announces when players can upload the long-awaited Resident Evil Village VR update for PlayStation VR2.
Resident Evil Village will release on February 22 for PS VR2.
Capcom has confirmed the release date of the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil Village VR was announced during Sony’s State of Play event in June, where players caught a glimpse of Ethan face-to-face with Lady Dimitrescu. Resident Evil Village is the latest installment of the survival horror game released last year and follows the events of RE7: Biohazard directly. The player reunites with Ethan Winters once again as he travels to a mysterious village to rescue his daughter. Like the seventh installment in the franchise, RE: Village utilizes a first-person perspective, a direction that has been widely praised when the previous game was released while also matching the upcoming VR update.
Any player who owns RE: Village will be able to get this free update when it ships with PlayStation VR2 on February 22nd. This applies to both the Standard and Gold Edition released. recently launched while also extending Village’s entire campaign. According to Capcom, the full specifications of the Sony virtual reality headset will be taken advantage of. The 4K HDR display, eye-tracking and 3D audio will all be used to create a fully immersive experience for Ethan Winter’s latest ride.
The PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers are also set to give gamers a sense of authenticity as they will represent Ethan’s hands and operate independently. Players will be able to perform separate functions with one hand for protection while the other hand can shoot at any enemy. Likewise, if players are feeling more adventurous, Capcom will also introduce dual-use weapons into the experience in case there are too many enemies to deal with.
This VR version promises to bring a terrifying experience to players when facing Lady Dimitrescu.
Players will certainly be happy when Capcom gives Resident Evil Village so much attention. This year, the team released the well-received Resident Evil Village Winters expansion, which includes the return of Mercenaries Additional Orders, a traditional third-person mode, and the Shadows of Rose DLC. This additional content sees a continuation of the main story and follows the adult Rose Winters, 16 years after the events of the main game.
The timing of Village’s release comes just weeks before Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake, which is set to launch on March 24. The fan favorite has previously been released as an exclusive. of the GameCube before being ported to almost every other platform since. And like previous remakes, RE:4 will see massive improvements in graphics, sound, and overall atmosphere when compared to the 2005 original.
