In the previous chapter of Return of the Broken Constellation, Lee Changseon took the Guiding Sword from Pollux’s hand because it was acting aggressively but it calmed down when he held it. The guiding sword is one of the nine great swords favored by Ou Yezi and holds a considerable amount of power.
However, the sword doesn’t actually acknowledge Changseon as its owner, so he has yet to realize its full potential. Getting his hands on the Guiding Sword is only part of Ou Yezi’s quest. He had brought the Fish Gut Sword with him so he had to collect seven more swords to complete the quest.
The Guiding Sword has its own will power so Changseon will have to work to make it acknowledge him. It seemed like the sword was just evaluating him before deciding anything. The fish intestine sword also has an additional power called Blood Storm, which strengthens the fire by absorbing blood.
We then learn that the real trial has only just begun since the Ghoul Leader rules the fifth floor. Crimson Murderer is very strong but not as strong as Ghoul Leader. Furthermore, the Ghoul Leader also has some innate blood magic that makes it even more powerful.
