Kodoani.com – Drecom posted a new trailer on Monday for the 3D dungeon RPG Wizardry Variants Daphne. The mobile game will release on iOS and Android in early 2023.
Drecom describes the story:
Every 100 years, the Abyss opens up.
It was a deadly curse that swallowed the continent. A Warlock coveted Death, devouring humans and animals and engulfing the world in despair.
For thousands of years, the line of kings sealed the Abyss.
But now, the king is gone, and the world is being swallowed up by death, moment by moment.
Resistance to it is pointless. Nothing but destruction.
Drecom originally announced the game with the tentative title Wizardry VA.
The game will maintain the series’ signature 3D first-person dungeon exploration, while adding new features for players to “make their own adventures”. Drecom plans to release the game worldwide.
59 Studio and Game*Spark Publishing spin-off remake Wizardry: The Five Ordeals launched for Early Access on Steam in December 2021.
Drecom announced in October 2020 that it has acquired the domestic and foreign rights and trademarks for the series, and plans to develop a new title. Drecom’s acquisitions include domestic and foreign trademarks for “Wizardry” as well as copyrights for “Wizardry 6,” “Wizardry 7,” “Wizardry 8,” and “Wizardry Gold.”
Drecom games include Disgaea RPG and Kirara Fantasia. Bandai Namco Entertainment and Drecom announced in May 2017 that they have established the company BXD. BXD developed the smartphone browser game Dragon Ball Z Bucchigiri Match.
XSEED Games released Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls on PC via Steam and the Humble Store in January 2020. The game is the first Western release for the Wizardry game since 2001. Robert Woodhead, co-creator founded AnimEigo, co-created Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the 1981 Mad Overlord game.
