Kodoani.com – This year’s ninth issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine, published by Shueisha on Thursday, revealed that the manga “Boy’s AbyssRyo Minenami’s ” (Shōnen no Abyss) is about to enter its final installment in the magazine’s next issue, scheduled for publication on February 8.
Previously, Minenami announced in January that the manga would end this year. Viz Media’s description of the manga is as follows:
“Selfish adults and broken dreams push a teenager trapped in a dead-end town closer and closer to the abyss. Reiji’s life is as miserable as the small town he cannot escape. The most interesting thing that ever happened was a suicide by the river. Does Reiji have any power over his fate, or will he too fall into the abyss?
Reiji’s mother is discharged from the hospital, he has to take care of his grandmother who has dementia, and his childhood friend treats him like a lackey. Then, beautiful, big-city pop star Nagi magically appears at the checkout counter at the local convenience store. Reiji was fascinated. When she offers him a final escape from his suffocating existence, will he succumb to temptation…?”
Minenami launched the manga in Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine in February 2020. Shueisha published the manga’s 15th compiled book volume on December 19.
The manga adapted a live-action film series, which premiered in Japan in September 2022.
