Yen Press releases novel about man who adopts sage bird from another world
Kodoani.com – The “Natsu no Gakuensai 2022” event for Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J light novel series announced on Sunday that the novel Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki and Pichan) by writer Buncololi and illustrator Kantoku will be adapted into a television anime. Kadokawa streamed a commercial featuring Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki and Aoi Yūki as Pii-chan.

Although Sasaki’s corporate life is always filled with work, it leaves him tired and unsatisfied at the end of each day. In search of some companion to fill the emptiness in his life, he suddenly visits a pet store, not realizing that he is about to change his life forever. After finding an adorable bird and bringing it home… his new roommate reveals that it was indeed an incredible sage from another world who promptly bestowed it on him. Sasaki has supernatural powers as well as the ability to travel between worlds. All Sasaki wants to do is use these new-found powers to live in peace and comfort, but there are more than a few colorful characters that can get in the way…
Kadokawa published the first volume of the novel series in January 2021 with illustrations by Kantoku, and the novels are ongoing. The novel won the Tankōban Prize and the novel category of the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!).
Pureji Osho also got a manga adaptation published on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website.
