The upcoming Senpai Is an Otokonoko anime series revealed its main cast and staff along with new promotional images and videos on Saturday. Shuichiro Umeda voices main character Makoto Hanaokam with Akira Sekina as Saki Aoi and Yuma Uchida as Ryuji Taiga. At the Anime NYC 2023 Crunchyroll Industry Panel it was announced that the anime will premiere this year.
Senpai is Otokonoko – Main imageStudio Project 9 is working on the animation for the series, which is expected to premiere this year. Shinsuke Yanagi is directing the anime with Yoriko Tomita overseeing series composition and Shoto Shinkai designing the characters. Yukari Hashimoto is composing music. Anime Senpai Is an Otokonoko is based on the manga written and illustrated by Pom. It was published digitally through Line Manga from 2019 to 2021. Ichijinsha acquired the title in 2021 and has since published 7 volumes. Season 8 is scheduled to release in April this year. Webtoon is distributing the manga in English and they describe it as follows: Can true love really overcome all obstacles? Saki, a high school student, confesses her feelings to Makoto. Surprised, Makoto reveals his secret, but this unexpected discovery doesn’t seem to bother Saki, who is already infatuated with him. After being rejected, Saki asks for advice from Ryuji, Makoto’s childhood friend, on how to win his heart. A love triangle unfolds when Ryuji realizes that he may also have some feelings for his old friend.
