Kodoani.com – Mobile application data analysis organization Sensor Tower announced on Friday that the popular mobile game Fate/Grand Order of Aniplex earned more than 7 billion US yen (equivalent to about 1 trillion yen) as of August 15.
According to Sensor Tower’s report, 81.1% of this revenue comes from the Japanese market, while 8.1% comes from China, 5.8% from the United States, 1.9% from Korea, 1, 8% from Taiwan and 1.3% from other territories (note that this data does not include sales from the Android marketplace by third-party distributors).
Fate/Grand Order is celebrating its 8th anniversary, starting in July. During this event, the game topped the Apple App Store (for games) chart for eight days, from 30 May August 7 to 15. During this period, the game surpassed One Piece Treasure Cruise to become the top-earning game in Japan on the App Store and Google Play.
Sensor Tower also provides interesting information about Fate/Grand Order players in Japan. Players 25-34 years old make up 38% of the total player base, while players 18-24 years old make up 29%. Notably, 24% of players play the game 1-10 hours per week, and 5% play more than 10 hours per week.
Aniplex released Fate/Grand Order in Japan in the summer of 2015, and later launched an English version in the United States and Canada in June 2017. The game has inspired many products. ranging from video games, anime, manga, stage plays, and many other projects.
