The upcoming Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf anime will premiere on April 1. The anime is a reboot of the popular 2008 Spice and Wolf series, with the new season being made by Studio Passione.
Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama will return as main characters Holo and Lawrence. Takeo Takahashi, who directed the original series, is listed as the main director for the remake. Hijiri Sanpei directed and Kevin Penkin composed the music.

Crunchyroll will stream the upcoming Spice and Wolf reboot, describing the plot as follows: Lawrence is a traveling merchant selling various goods from a horse-drawn carriage. One day, he went to a village and met a beautiful girl with the ears and tail of an animal! Her name is Holo the Wisewolf and she brings bountiful harvests. She wishes to return to her homeland and Lawrence offers to take her. Now the once lonely merchant and the once wise wolf begin their journey north.
Spice and Wolf is based on the light novel series by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Ju Ayakura. It has been serialized by ASCII Media Works since February 2006 under the Dengeki Bunko label. A manga adaptation illustrated by Keito Koume began serialization in the November 2007 issue of ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine. The series also launched a spin-off series titled Wolf and Parchment and was published Serials from September 2016.
Spice and Wolf – March VisualThe original Spice and Wolf anime aired in two seasons: the first season ran from January to March 2008 and was animated by Imagin while the second season aired from July to September 2009 and was animated by Brain’s Base and Marvy Jack animator. Details about the anime reboot were first announced in February 2022.
