Kodoani.com – Here are the contents revealed for The Devil is a Part-Timer! Part 2, Episode 3

Fulfilling their promise in Volume 2, Maou and Emi take Alas=Ramus to an amusement park as a “family” so that the girl can have a good time. After the water show at the fountain in the park, Maou and Emi realized Alas=Ramus had no hat, putting her at risk of sunburn. As Emi and Maou went together to a store to buy Alas=Ramus a hat, Ashiya, Chiho and Suzuki continued to observe the couple and the child from a distance. Ashiya wanted to make sure Maou didn’t overspend, Chiho wanted to make sure that nothing funny happened between Maou and Emi, and Suzuki just watched the whole family go out for fun.

While buying a hat for Alas=Ramus, Emi used that opportunity to discuss with Maou how long he planned to keep the girl. Maou speculated that eventually the girl’s parents would actually appear, or that he would continue to be her guardian until she grew up. Emi found this unusual and asked Maou if he had plans to leave the kingdom and his army behind, but Maou confirmed that he had given up on his plans for world domination, believing that they were deleted long ago. Emi teased that the demons of Ente Island must be weak if they couldn’t survive without their leader. Maou further explained that even if he regained all of his black magic, he could not conquer the world in his current state.

After Maou bought the hat for Alas=Ramus, Ashiya checked the price of the hat to make sure he wasn’t overspending. Suzuki commented that both Maou and Emi behaved surprisingly mature and wondered if children really brought people together. Chiho then asked Suzuki if Suzuki was there to gawk and confirmed that she was there, but instead, she described herself as a peeping person. Chiho felt that this was worse than gawking. Ashiya noted that Chiho and Suzuki were enjoying themselves, with the latter noting that he should also enjoy himself.

As Emi and Maou walked around, Alas=Ramus continued to repeat the names Malkuth, Kether, Gebura and Yesod while Emi herself went out and thought about what Maou said earlier in the hat shop. This went unnoticed by Maou, who asked her what she was thinking about, although Emi did not share her thoughts. Instead, she asked him what he wanted and Maou said that Alas=Ramus wanted to see Shinobi Five’s performance due to her love of colors. Emi noted that the performance was very expensive and offered to pay for the performance herself so that Maou would not further deplete his scarce source of income. Emi bought tickets for the next performance, giving them enough time to have lunch.

At the show, Maou was impressed by the actors’ stunts on stage and asked Alas=Ramus for her opinion. He noticed that she was completely unresponsive but mumbled a cryptic message about Sefio and “everyone [rơi] from the tree”—probably the Tree of Life. Then Alas=Ramus said that her mother (probably not Emi) took her and ran and Malkuth was gone. Neither Emi nor Maou understood her strange message, but he noticed the purple crescent on the girl’s forehead. Realizing that this might be an emergency situation, Emi and Maou left the Shinobi performance with Alas=Ramus. Emi did not notice the fever from the girl, but still asked Maou to buy cold drinks just in case.

Attending with the girl alone, Emi meets a mysterious woman dressed in white. The woman asked to help the girl and revealed a ring with a purple gem that immediately caught Emi’s attention. The purple orb glowed, causing the crescent moon on Alas=Ramus’ forehead to disappear. This only made Emi feel more uncomfortable. Emi confirms the girl is not an enemy and reveals that she knows the girl’s identity. The woman also warned Emi to be careful as others might have seen Yesod’s shard on the girl’s forehead. She also warned that Gabriel and his Regiment would soon arrive. When Maou returned with the cold drink, the woman suddenly disappeared. Back at Maou’s apartment, Urushihara is investigating the Gate incident with Suzuno, until his pizza order arrives.

At the park, Emi and Maou take Alas=Ramus on the Ferris wheel, which only furthers Suzuki’s speculation that Emi may actually be attracted to Maou, and that a ferris wheel offers both privacy and a view. pretty. However, Chiho and Ashiya did not share their thoughts. Maou, Emi and Alas=Ramus took pictures before boarding the Ferris wheel, and Ashiya, Suzuki, and Chiho immediately after. Chiho was pulled aside to help an old woman buy a ticket from a nearby kiosk, which allowed Suzuki to take Ashiya alone in the car on the ferris wheel.

As they went to the Ferris wheel, Emi demanded to know why Maou decided to take the child that was thrown at him and how he knew about the crescent moon on Alas=Ramus’ forehead. Maou revealed that when he was a boy and had not yet become the ruler of the Underworld, his entire clan along with his parents were killed by a powerful demon, and only he survived. In his moment of despair, Maou met an angel – the same angel that Emi met earlier at the amusement park – and was saved by her to his own surprise.

Maou’s immature mind could not explain why an angel would save a demon, so he asked her why he was saved. Her answer was because he was crying – a behavior she had never observed from a demon before. It was also during this time that Maou learned about the human world, which later inspired him to invade it. Maou then confirmed that Alas=Ramus’ crest was the same as the Moon Crystal that the angel gave him as a child. Maou was instructed to plant and cultivate crystals as a seed to learn more about the human world. He did as he was told, and since Alas=Ramus had a moon-shaped crystal on her forehead, this seemed to confirm to Maou that she was indeed his daughter.

Maou did not know that Emi met the angel and she cured Alas=Ramus by raising her hand. Then, Emi informed Maou that the angel mentioned both Gabriel and “Yesod’s fragment”, both of which alarmed Maou. He decided to test a theory by having Alas=Ramus name all the balloons, and the names she gave matched the names of the sephiroth (cosmic plastic balls) found in the Tree of Life. Maou speculated that Alas=Ramus might be an incarnation of Yesod.

After Maou, Emi, and Alas=Ramus got off the ferris wheel, Emi bought a photo of the ferris wheel as a souvenir for the girl. Both Emi and Maou received calls from Suzuno and Urushihara respectively to announce the presence of Gabriel – a potentially dangerous enemy. The two immediately left the park with the girl, leaving Suzuki and Ashiya behind. Likewise Chiho went home. However, before Ashiya departed, Suzuki gave him her phone number so they could stay in touch.

When Emi and Maou arrived at the apartment later, Gabriel requested the girl and Emi’s sacred sword. Alas=Ramus refuses to go with Gabriel, saying he is the bad guy who took Malkuth, Kether, Binah and Chokmah. Likewise, Maou and Emi refused to hand over the girl and the sword, and Gabriel used more violent methods. Chiho witnesses this and decides to intervene, much to Gabriel’s frustration and decides to postpone the exchange to another day.

After Gabriel left, Maou admitted that Emi and Suzuno could not fight Gabriel during the day and decided to develop a battle strategy against Gabriel. As part of that strategy, he invited Emi to spend the night at his place. This made Alas=Ramus happy, but Emi herself dreaded the thought of staying.
