The movie Super Mario Bros. Nintendo and Illumination’s hit is getting a sequel, setting a release date of April 3, 2026 in the United States. The film will be co-produced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, Nintendo representative Shigeru Miyamoto, Aaron Horvath and The Super Mario Bros. director Michael Jelenic. Movie. Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 announced on Mario Day 2024 (March 10, 2024). Meledandri announced that storyboarding and set design for the film is already underway, adding that they “soon begin animation. And rest assured, we will pay attention to every detail to make sure we get it right.” Paper Mario RPG’s release date was also announced, set for May 23, 2024. Super Mario Bros. sequel. The movie is not surprising given the huge box office success of its predecessor. Released on April 5, 2023, Super Mario Bros. Movie. has earned more than 1.3 billion USD compared to a budget of about 100 million USD.
