Suzume No Tojimari, Your Name’s upcoming fantasy/adventure anime series from director Makoto Shinkai, introduces a stunning new trailer.
Kodoani.com – Suzume No Tojimari, which will simply be titled Suzume outside of Japan, is a western film anime series by award-winning writer/director Makoto Shinkai. The film is being produced by Comix Wave Films and Story Inc, with distribution by Toho. Masayoshi Tanaka, who worked with Shinkai on Your Name and Weathering With You, is designing the characters. Suzume No Tojimari will open in Japan on November 11 and is expected to open in the US in early 2023. Crunchyroll will distribute the film in North America.
Makoto Shinkai is known for his award-winning animated series, Your Name. The anime series was a huge commercial success, grossing over $100 million at the Japanese box office. This is the first animated film not directed by Hayao Miyazaki to have done so. Your Name was appreciated by fans and critics alike for its beautiful animation and moving story. Shinkai’s most recent film, Weathering With You, has also won several awards since its release and is now the thirteenth highest-grossing Japanese film ever made. Suzume will be Shinkai’s seventh feature film.
Suzume No Tojimari is a fantasy/adventure film about a 17-year-old girl named Suzume. After meeting a mysterious stranger, Suzume finds another door that seems to lead to nowhere. After opening it, other doors began to open all over Japan, causing disasters across the country. To stop the destruction, Suzume must find and lock all the doors of the other world.
Actress Nanoka Hara, who appeared in the tokusatsu Samurai Sentai Shikenger series, will voice the character Suzume in the film. “I was very nervous. Since I could only use my voice to express the character’s feelings, I had to pay attention to each phrase and its meaning. There were a lot of things I didn’t know.” , she talked about the role. “Seeing the visuals and the voice together, I finally realized that I had to bring this character to life, which made me so nervous, I could barely move. However, director Shinkai will praise my acting and guide me to the right performance every time. Recording this trailer has definitely boosted my confidence!”
