Bandai Namco has opened pre-registration for Sword Art Online Variant Showdown on iOS and Android.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online anime, the developer is releasing the Sword Art Online Variant Showdown game. Players will have the opportunity to have their name engraved on the SAOVS Swordsman Monument when registering for the game.
Eir Aoi will sing the theme song of the game SAOVW. The game was announced in March when the developer announced that the game was set to release in 2022 and the beta test was launched in May 2022.

Sword Art Online Variant Showdown focuses on Kirito, one of the main characters in the Sword Art Online (SAO) anime. During the game, Kirito learns about a new game called Cross Edge whose mission is to cause amnesia.
Kirito opened an investigation to get to the bottom of the matter. After the investigation began and the players started playing Cross Edge, a mysterious figure was ambushing. So the player has to overcome all the challenges and get the victory.
Gamers will take on the role of anime characters like Kirito and Asuna in 3D battles. The game includes bosses like The Gleam Eyes. The game will feature character-specific sword fighting skills and switch between attack and defense on the go to take down the villains. Enemy special attacks can be prevented using unique counterattacks. Players can awaken unique characters capable of unleashing real power on the battlefield.
Gamer Sword Art Online Variant Showdown creates a party and chooses three characters to enter battle. The game follows an original storyline where players will be able to experience a VR action game called Cross Edge.
