Recently, the case of Diffusion of depraved cultural products from Heaven and Earth was tried at first instance.
This is the Thien Dia case that caused a stir in public opinion because of its long-term nature, spreading a large amount of depraved videos and images. In Vietnam, this line operates under the direction of Nguyen Duc Vinh (born 1975, residing in Vinh city, Nghe An). Vinh is a subject of social protection due to a particularly severe mobility disability.
During the trial of the Thien Dia case, one forum manager especially attracted attention
Defendant NPN (2002, residing in Long An province) is considered a quite special subject. The male student was arrested while studying at a quite famous university. He is the only student in the group of people accused of managing and operating a depraved forum with millions of members. In particular, N. is a person who did not receive any remuneration from his crime.
Confession
N. has known and visited the website “Thiendia” since he was 18 years old. Male students are interested in the column “2-gun doctor's office – sex doctor”, regularly logging in to comment and advise on reproductive health and gender.
Around August 2021, Nguyen Duc Vinh proactively contacted and invited N. to join the “Thiendia” forum management board. Here, N was assigned to manage the categories “2-gun doctor's office”, “Sex stories – adult stories – xxx stories” and “Lauxanh magazine”.
N participates in management to advise and answer issues related to reproductive health, sexual health and other diseases for forum members. In addition, he also recruited collaborators, wrote and posted depraved content to forum sections, and also reminded, warned or banned accounts that posted content that violated the rules. Despite doing many tasks, N “did it out of passion”, he repeatedly refused payment when his superiors proposed it.
N's actions were accused of helping Nguyen Duc Vinh spread 9.8GB out of a total of nearly 13GB of depraved content on the “Thien Dia” forum.
That's not all. Even more surprising, NPN has achieved many high achievements in scientific and technical innovation competitions at the provincial and national levels, and was awarded certificates of merit and certificates of merit by the school, district leaders, provincial leaders and provincial unions. The male defendant was also awarded the title “3-good student”. When asked what he thought about participating in managing a depraved forum, N bowed his head and admitted his mistake.
At the end of the first instance trial, with his role and mitigating circumstances, N received a 21-month suspended sentence. This is the lowest sentence among the 11 defendants on trial. The remaining defendants were sentenced to 21-48 months in prison for the crime of spreading depraved cultural products.
