Voice actors Aya Suzaki, Takumi Yamazaki, Atsushi Tamaru talk show host on June 4
Kodoani.com – Kyoto Animation announced on Monday that it will be holding 10th anniversary screenings of the television anime series. Tamako Market and anime movies Tamako Love Story from June 2 to June 8. The screenings will feature episodes 1-6 of the television anime on June 2 and 5, episodes 7-12 on June 3 and 6, and Tamako Love Story on June 4, 7, and 8.
In addition, voice actors Aya Suzaki (Tamako), Takumi Yamazaki (Dera) and Atsushi Tamaru (Mochizō) will talk about the cast at a screening in Tokyo on June 4.
Kyoto Animation announced in January that it was planning a 10th anniversary project for the anime.
The original TV anime premiered in January 2013, and K – ON! the group was at the forefront of anime production. Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing the anime, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON, Bakuman) is in charge of the series scripts. Yukiko Horiguchi designed the characters.
Inside the Usagiyama Shopping District is an eccentric but close-knit community of business owners. Tamako Kitashirakawa, a clumsy but lovable teenage girl, belongs to a family of mochi bakers who own a quaint shop called Tama-ya. One day, Tamako stumbles across a talking bird, claiming to be royalty from a faraway land. Dera Mochimazzi, as he claims to be, says that he is looking for a bride for the prince of his country. With the intention of carrying out her mission, Dera followed Tamako home and became addicted to mochi, becoming painfully overweight and then unable to fly back to her hometown; so he went to live with the Tamako family and became the community’s favorite mascot.
Meanwhile, Tamako’s friend, Mochizou Ooji, continues to hide his true feelings for her. Their fathers are fierce mochi rivals, but will it be enough to fuel the rivalry between Tamako and Mochizou? And what will happen to Dera’s quest to find the destined bride for his prince?
A sequel to the anime titled Tamako Love Story premiered in Japan in April 2014. The anime’s staff and voice cast returned to the film.
