Anime The Banished Veteran Lives as He Pleases has released a new trailer ahead of its release on April 1, 2024. The new trailer also features the ending theme song “Meritocracy” by Aimi. Studio Deen and Marvy Jack are making the series.

Kazuomi Koga is directing Former Hero Banished while Rintaro Ikeda is in charge of writing the series. Saori Hosoda designed the characters, Yoshiki Okusa wrote the script, and Kei Haneoka composed the music. The anime’s cast includes:

The banished former hero lives as he pleases (Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyu wa, Jikka kara Tsuihosareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita) will adapt the light novel of the same name by Shin Kozuki and illustrated by Chocoan, began publishing in 2018 under TO Books. A manga adaptation of Karasurmaru is currently serialized in Comic Corona magazine.
J-Novel Club recently licensed the light novel in English and describes the plot as follows: Considered a “good-for-nothing” because of his low qualifications and lack of God-given gifts, Allen is deprived abandoned his noble position and was banished from the World. Duchy of Westfeldt. But Allen has a secret: in his past life he was a great hero and he’s excited to finally have the chance to live the way he wants! However, his drama-free existence is soon interrupted by a desperate encounter with his ex-fiancee. As a former hero who still possesses incredible powers from his previous life, Allen can’t ignore someone in need of help—no matter how much he wants it! And so begins the new hero story our former hero never wanted!
