The son stole tens of millions to pay for the NPH game
That is the story of a family from China, which has been causing waves throughout this country's social networks recently. Accordingly, this 14-year-old boy is nicknamed Xiao Wei. Xiao Wei is a serious game addict and he stole more than 3,600 Yuan (about 13 million VND) to load into many different games. Among them, there are famous games such as Peace Elite (PUBG Mobile for the Chinese market), Glory of Kings, Eggy Party…
Xiao Wei is said to have spent more than 7 million VND to load into the games Peace Elite and King of Honor (Tencent) during the period from March to August this year. The remaining amount is deposited into NPH NetEase's Eggy Party. After discovering the incident, Xiao Wei's father, Mr. Xu, filed an application asking the above two distributors to refund the lost money.
Gamer parents blame NPH for not handling things as expected
The reason Mr. Xu was able to apply is because these distributors all have monitoring platforms for underage players. Upon receiving the complaint, Mr. Xu said NPH NetEase had refunded the family all the lost money.
However, things did not go so smoothly for Tencent. In nearly 2 months of filing, Tencent only refunded about 80% of the deposited amount. Very quickly, this family reported the incident to the press and caused a big debate among this country's fans.
It must be affirmed that this bad story first comes from the parents' fault for not fulfilling their responsibility to properly educate their children. Depending on the distributors' policies towards gamers, it cannot be confirmed that refunds will go 100% smoothly as expected. Although still controversial, this is a great lesson for young gamers, as well as parents, to manage their families more carefully in the future.
