The festival hosted the North American premiere of Naoko Yamada's Science SARU over the weekend
Kodoani.com – Animated series The Colors Within (Kimi no Iro), the studio's latest project Science SARU and director Naoko Yamadawon the award The audience votes at the festival Animation Is Film do GKIDS and Annecy organization. The festival held the North American premiere of The Colors Within on October 18. Additionally, the U.S. premieres of Mononoke the Movie: The Phantom in the Rain and animated film Ghost Cat Anzu is also featured, along with a documentary about Hayao Miyazaki called Miyazaki, Spirit of Nature.
The Colors Within launches in Japan on August 30 and is expected to be released in international markets in 2024, with GKIDS Acquired rights for North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.
The story revolves around Totsukoa high school girl with the ability to see the “color” of emotions in other people's hearts. She meets two other characters at an antique bookstore and together forms a band, the story revolves around the journey of these three sensitive and emotional people.
Director Naoko Yamada, along with screenwriter Reiko Yoshidacomposer Kensuke Ushioand artist DaisukeRichard has delivered a work that combines emotional art and music. Theme song of the movie, “in the pocket”presented by Mr. Children.
