This thief deserves the nickname “World’s dumbest criminal” when he came to the police station himself after 7 years on the run to… apply for a job.
Thomas Ngcobo, 40 years old, came to the door of Bethal police station, Mpumalanga province, eastern South Africa to… apply to join the police force. Immediately recognizing the long-wanted criminal, the police handcuffed him on August 15.
In 2015, Thomas was arrested on charges such as theft from a computer parts company. Received the task of delivering goods to customers, but Thomas arbitrarily delivered them to his accomplices to embezzle, and at the same time forged papers and books.

“His illegal behavior was discovered by us after a week, when the manager received a lot of customer complaints and checked the invoices.” Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a spokesman for the Mpumalanga provincial police, said.
Police in Bethal, Mpumalanga province issued an arrest warrant and wanted Thomas because he had fled earlier.
However, after 7 years of hiding, on August 15, Thomas found himself in front of the police station. It turned out that this guy had previously applied to join the law enforcement in this area but never received a reply, so he came to inquire.
“We recognized the wanted criminal and immediately arrested him on August 15, funny that he went to the police station himself so we didn’t spend much time searching.” Mr. Mohlala said.
Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, Bethal Police Commissioner was delighted to answer the press:
“No criminal can escape the law. We are always working 24/7 to ensure people’s security. It will only be a matter of time before the criminals get caught.”
Thanks to this water going straight into the ground, Thomas was nicknamed “The dumbest criminal on the planet” by the online community.
“Finally, he got a job at the police station.”
“The most dangerous place is also the safest place, but not now.”
