The previously announced Days With My Stepsister anime will premiere this July, as announced with details on the main character’s design. Studio DEEN is animating the series.


The designs of main characters Yuta Asamura (CV: Kohei Amasaki) and Saki Ayase (CV: Yuki Nakashima) can be seen above. Other cast members include Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri, Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Sakamoto, and Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru.
Days With My Stepsister (Gimai Seikatsu) is a mixed media project that first started with a YouTube channel in 2020 that shares short videos about the characters. A light novel series illustrated by Ghost Mikawa and Hiten began being published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J label in January 2021. A manga adaptation with illustrations by Yumika Kanade was made. under Shonen Ace Plus since July 2021.
Yen Press licensed the novel in English and has now published two volumes. Episode 1 is described as follows: When his father remarries, Yuuta Asamura ends up living under the same roof with a brand new stepsister, who also happens to be the hottest girl in his class! But Yuuta and his new sister, Saki Ayase, are under no illusions—both are scarred by their parents’ difficult divorce, and they agree to keep a respectful distance. However, as it turned out, the two had a lot in common and gradually, cautiously, they became closer. But is the love that blossoms between them simply admiration, family affection, or something more?
In a recent interview with Anime Corner, Mikawa explained that Days With My Stepsister revolves around the theme of love and social interaction between men and women, especially observing that there are many late marriages and Family problems are evident in today’s society.
Looking at Japanese social networks, we can see that there are a lot of conflicts between men and women. Even outside the Internet, we can see that the whole society is suffering from late marriage and other problems. family problems, many individuals are suffocating. from problems in love and social communication. The idea was to portray two ideal people who can overcome such relationship problems firmly and strongly.
