A recently uploaded document suggests that the UK government may have been informed of The Elder Scrolls 6’s release date.

It is possible that the UK government already knows when The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released, according to some official documents referring to the upcoming RPG. Given Skyrim’s longevity, its initial release in 2011 has many people growing impatient with the news of a sequel in Bethesda’s long-running series. No one really knows when that product is likely to launch, but since the developer has revealed very little information, it’s possible that fans will have to wait years.
In fact, The Elder Scrolls 6 may still be in pre-production, and with Bethesda finishing touches on Starfield, the studio’s first new product in a quarter of a century, it doesn’t seem likely. There’s no rush for Todd Howard and his team to deal with TES6 updates. All people can really do at this stage is wait, and while there will certainly be plenty of leaks and speculation about a potential launch date, it’s entirely possible that some officials the government already knew that information.
According to a tweet from UESP, a document uploaded to the UK government website outlines the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation into the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. In a specific section that discusses some of the “midsize” games currently under the Microsoft umbrella, there’s a bit of a mention of The Elder Scrolls 6, which states that the game is “slated to be… not released before […]”. This clearly shows that the long-awaited RPG’s launch date has been revealed, but has apparently been removed prior to the public launch.

Last year, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that The Elder Scrolls 6 would come out after Fable 4, but even the latter would likely be in development for a long time, possibly years. With that in mind, it’s not clear to fans when a sequel will actually arrive, and that’s sure to annoy some, especially given that Skyrim is now 11 years old.
The Elder Scrolls series is known for its vast lore, not to mention vast worlds of discovery, so the chance to experience a whole new part is something many have long been looking forward to. Bethesda released a trailer, but that was in 2018, and almost nothing has been known about the game since. With luck, once the developer releases Starfield around next year, details about TES6 will be announced.
