Pearl Abyss announced that they will close the game Shadow Arena after a period of 2 years and 8 months.

Pearl Abyss announced on its official website on July 10 that Shadow Arena’s service will be terminated on August 10.
Shadow Arena began rolling out early access in May 2020. It is a battle royale game introduced as a spin-off of Shadow Battlefield, which is the content of Black Desert.
The company said: “Despite various attempts and efforts, we have decided that it is very difficult to provide unique tension and fun to players at the present time, and we have decided to terminate the service after a long time of consideration and consideration”. Pearl Abyss’ arena fighting game, Shadow Arena, will close later this summer according to the developer. The Black Desert-inspired fighting game once struggled to really get a foothold, with the Pearl Abyss team calling the title “unfit to hold out”.
The post on the Steam page states that the battle royale title is in a state of stagnation regarding the experience not being what the team expected due to the growing indifference of players to the game. Therefore, Pearl Abyss will close the game to save operating costs.
“Despite our efforts to further develop the game, we think that Shadow Arena in its current state is not capable of providing the fullest user experience. With deep consideration, we regret to inform you that Shadow Arena’s service will be terminated. We would like to sincerely thank all the players who have supported us,” said the game management team.
The game ends service while still in early access, premium currency purchases made in the previous year will be eligible for a refund. Official customer users will need to go through Pearl Abyss, while Steam users will need to go through the extra step of logging into their Steam account through customer support. Purchases eligible for a refund are purchases made between July 8, 2021 and August 10, 2022.
Meanwhile, for those who want to play Shadow Arena before it closes, the Battle Pass rewards will be sped up while all items in the shop will be available for a single amount of silver. GCoin purchases are now disabled.
