The 15th volume of the light novel series “The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy” (Seiken Gakuin no Maken Tsukai) by Yū Shimizu and Asagi Tōsaka revealed on April 25 that the novel series will end at the 16th volume. The final volume's release date has not yet been announced. Published by Kadokawa the first volume of Shimizu's novel series with illustrations by Tōsaka in May 2019.
Yen Press is publishing the light novel in English and describes the story as follows:
Awakening from magical stasis after a thousand years, Dark Lord Leonis suddenly finds himself in the body of a ten-year-old boy! He soon meets Riselia, a girl who is confronting the Void, creatures that nearly destroyed humanity. Determined to uncover the mysteries of this strange new era, Leonis enrolls in Excalibur Academy, a school that trains students to fight against these mysterious monsters. Could the Voids have some connection to Leonis' past?
Asuka Keigen launched a manga adaptation of the novel in Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine in November 2019, and the series is still ongoing.
The novel's anime adaptation premiered on October 2 on TV in Japan, following an early streaming on the ABEMA service on September 25.
