Are the differences between the Reincarnated Princess adaptations a good thing, and can they add more context to the story?
Warning: The following contains spoilers from Episode 1 of The Reincarnated Princess, “The Princess and Lady’s Magical Revolution”, now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Diomedéa’s latest anime, The Miraculous Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Girl, opened the story by taking the audience into a fantasy world of magic, romance, and mystery at once. ie.
Adapted from the original novel, written by Piero Karasu, true to the original, bold and fearless. The premiere of the first episode didn’t disappoint — in fact, it only cemented what started out as a comedic yuri drama.
The reincarnated princess got off to a strong start
The first volume, “The Magical Revolution of the Princess and the Lady”, introduces a rather eccentric protagonist, Anispha Palletia, a self-proclaimed “reincarnated princess” who is not afraid to take risks and rudeness to Prove yourself to be a “no magic” human in a magical land. Everything for her, as well as her research into “magic”, changes when she begins to bond with Princess Euphyllia Magenta, who has lost all of her purpose when her engagement her participation was brutally canceled by none other than the younger brother of the former. heir to the title and throne of Palletia.
It all started when Prince Algard broke off his engagement to Princess Euphyllia to pursue another lover, Lainie Cyan. However, that night, during his and Euphyliia’s graduation party, the event was literally ruined by Anispha, Algard’s older sister, and when she realized what had happened, she He decided to bring the princess with a broken heart. The episode ends with her declaring that she will “kidnap” Euphyllia.
Original content added to the plot
Although the episode primarily follows the events of the first chapter of both the light novel and manga, it adds some prior setting that was not provided in the original material until much later. Ultimately, this inadvertently makes for a better story, because more information is presented that would normally not be present at the beginning of the story. For example, the first episode introduces characters who don’t appear until later, including Anispha’s friend Tilty, but that doesn’t detract from the story in the slightest. On the contrary, it adds, and it leaves the audience restless to wait for more.
The premiere of Princess Reincarnated was not afraid to show the true colors of Anispha, nicknamed Princess Marauder, nor to filter out harsh and unjust accusations against Euphyllia, and that in itself is a great achievement. The balance between the anime original supplement and the original source material adaptation creates a much more compelling story.
