Kodansha publishes volume 31, final volume of manga on January 17
Kodoani.com – Mainichi Shimbun’s Mantan website reported on Tuesday that the manga Tokyo Revengers by Ken Wakui has more than 70 million copies in circulation. Kodansha has not determined at this time if the number is worldwide or just represents Japanese release numbers.
Kodansha announced in July that the manga has 65 million copies in circulation worldwide, including 7 million copies outside of Japan.
Wakui launched the manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2017. The manga ended on November 16, and Kodansha will publish the manga’s 31st and final volume on November 16. January 17.
Ken Wakui launched a spinoff manga based on his Tokyo Revengers series titled Tokyo Revengers Extra in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine.
Takemichi, a virgin unemployed youth, learns that the first and only girl he dated since high school has died. After an accident, he finds himself transported back to his middle school days. The television anime adaptation premieres on MBS in April 2021. The Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown sequel will premiere on January 7 and include the “Seiya Kessen” (“Christmas Showdown”) part of the manga.
The first of two live-action sequels based on Wakui’s manga is titled Chi no Halloween -Unmei- (Bloody Halloween -Fate-) and will hit theaters during Japan’s Golden Week holiday next year. spring 2023. The second film is titled Chi no Halloween -Kessen- (Bloody Halloween -Determining Battle-). Chi no Halloween -Unmei- and will hit theaters in the summer of 2023.
The manga’s first live-action film, which premiered in July 2021, is the No. 1 live-action film in Japan in 2021.
