Kodoani.com – Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app publishes the 40th and final chapter of the manga Manatsu no Gray Goo (Grey Goo of Midsummer) by Tomonori Inoue on Friday.
Inoue launched the manga in Pocket Magazine in June 2022. Kodansha will publish the manga’s fourth compiled book volume on March 16 and the fifth volume on May 17.
A sci-fi survival manga about three high school friends: Manatsu Kurashiki, a member of the school’s Kendo club; Tsumugi Midorikawa, insect live streamer; and Ayano Yamaji, who enjoys reading about occult themes and urban legends. Three friends fail their exams and they have to take an extra class on the first day of summer. During their remedial class, a Self-Defense Force helicopter suddenly landed on the school grounds. The soldiers explain to their teacher that the town is under lockdown due to a nanomachine attack. Three friends who were observing things from their classroom were shocked to see their teacher suddenly swallowed by a giant ant colony.
Inoue launched the Coppelion manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in 2008, before moving to Weekly Young Magazine in 2012. Inoue ended the manga in the magazine in February 2016. A television anime adaptation manga adaptation that premiered in 2013.
Inoue launched the Candy & Cigarettes manga in Kodansha’s Young Magazine on January 3, 2017. Kodansha moved the manga to Young Monthly in May 2021 after it published the final issue of Young magazine. Magazine issue 3 in April 2021. The manga ended in July 2021 and Kodansha published the 11th and final volume of the manga in November 2021.
