Kodoani.com – Netflix began uploading on Monday a trailer for the anime series Tekken: Bloodline and revealed that the series will premiere on August 18.

Although Netflix doesn’t reveal the staff for the series, Netflix’s list of series outside the US has the “US TV Shows” and “Animated Series” category tags. Netflix has used similar cards before on shows like DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Blood of Zeus, and Castlevania.
Netflix describes the series, which appears to be an adaptation of the story of Tekken 3, as follows:
“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned his family’s self-defense martial art, Traditional Kazama Style, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he is still helpless when a monstrous evil suddenly appears, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry with himself for not being able to stop it, Jin vows revenge and seeks the absolute power to correct it. His quest will lead to the final battle across the globe – the Tournament to see who is king.
According to Tekken executive producer Katsuhiro Harada, the series will include parts of the original game’s story that were previously only written in words, such as Jin’s life with his mother Jun.
Tekken 3 was released for games in 1996 and then for PlayStation in 1998.
The latest game in the Tekken series, Tekken 7, launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam in June 2017.
