Kodoani.com – The 15th issue of Houbunsha's Weekly Manga Times magazine last Friday revealed that the manga Hatsukoi Aite no Kimi wa Dare? (Who Are You, My First Love?), a spin-off manga of the manga Tsuma, Shougakusei ni Naru. by Yayū Murata will end in the magazine's next issue on May 10. The manga launches in Weekly Manga Times on March 8, and the spin-off's story focuses on high school student Takeru, who cares about his elementary school classmate Marika, the reincarnated wife of the series, and has recently grown up.
The main series is inspiring an anime that will premiere in 2024. Noriyuki Abe (director of Yū Yū Hakusho, Bleach, Flame of Recca) will direct the anime at St.Signpost. Sawako Hirabayashi (director of Wolf Girl & Black Prince, Delicious Party♡Precure) will supervise and write the film's script, while Narihito Sekikawa will design the characters.
The manga focuses on Keisuke Niijima, a man still suffering 10 years after his wife Takae passed away. One day, an elementary school girl came to his house and said that she was Takae, reincarnated as another girl. Now Keisuke is trying to make up for lost time, while Takae is an elementary school student struggling with the mindset of a woman in her 40s, trying to create situations where she can Meet Keisuke.
Murata published a one-shot version of the manga in Weekly Manga Times in April 2018, before beginning serialization in July of the same year. The manga ended in December 2022 and Hobunsha published the manga's 14th and final volume in March 2023.
The manga inspired a live-action series that aired from January to March 2022.
