Kodoani.com – Official website for the anime adaptation of the children’s novel series Dagashiya Zenitendo announced on Friday that a new anime series will premiere on NHK’s E Tele channel on April 7.
In the new series, a mysterious person approaches the customers of the Zenitendō snack shop and learns their deepest secrets. Shinya Owada takes on the character, Professor Rokujō.
Katsumi Ono replaced Satoshi Tomioka as director of the new series at Toei Animation and Kanaban Graphics. Most of the remaining staff will return for the new series.
The new series will premiere with the 85th overall episode of the anime on April 7 at 6:40 pm
The television anime premiered in September 2020 and began a new season on April 8, 2022.
Yūji Kobayashi is in charge of the script. Satoru Matsuda is the sound director. MICHIRU composed music.
The story of the novel series focuses on the mysterious Zenitendō candy and snack shop, which only the lucky ones can find. The shop owner is a woman named Beniko, and she can recommend the perfect candy for everyone’s troubles. However, things may not go as planned if people eat or use confectionery incorrectly. Beniko’s candies bring luck or unhappiness depends on who receives them.
Eiga Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendō is one of four segments in the new installment of the Toei Manga Matsuri revival series. The bus movie opened in theaters in Japan in August 2020. The film was slated to open in theaters in Japan in April 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
The novel series debuted in May 2013, and is continuing. The franchise has more than 1.4 million copies in print.
