The last film surpassed the gross of the first film
Kodoani.com – Japanese film distributor Shochiku announced on February 15 that the cumulative box office gross of Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE ST☆RISH TOURS finally surpassed two billion yen ($15.55 million) five months after its release in September 2022. The anime became the tenth Japanese anime series in 2022 to hit the two billion yen mark.
The 65-minute second concert film featuring the seven-member idol group ST☆RISH from the Uta no Prince-sama series was released in 128 theaters across Japan on September 2, 2022. The film has grossed 2,001,488,010 yen ($15,562,642) across 1,307,598 views through February 24, surpassing the domestic total of the franchise’s first concert film, Uta no Prince- sama The Movie: Maji LOVE Kingdom. The first film was released in Japan in June 2019 and grossed 1.82 billion yen ($14.15 million) from its domestic gross.
The film’s DVD/Blu-ray will be released on March 15, 2023.
