Voice actress Stephanie Sheh confirmed on Twitter Tuesday that the voice actor William Frederick Knight passed away. According to an obituary list, he died on November 8th. He died in North Hollywood, California at age 88.
Knight born December 6, 1933, sometimes known as William Knight, William Frederick, or Frederick Knight, is an American voice actor.
Knight is known for voicing older men in anime. He is best known for playing Daisuke Aramaki in the Ghost in the Shell series, a role he most recently played in the second anime Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 that premiered on Netflix in May.
His other roles include Danzo in Naruto Shippūden, Gordon Rosewater in The Big O, Kuzemi in Eureka Seven, Dr. Schtalubaugh in El Hazard, Kagome’s Grandfather in Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon and Kenzou in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
He has also reprized some of these anime roles in various video games.
