Kusunoki tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, May 8. As a result, she postponed her Tomori Kusunoki radio show The Music Reverie. She also postponed the online autograph sessions to celebrate her upcoming first album PRESENCE / ABSENCE from May 13 to May 14 due to her physical condition.
Kusunoki has voiced roles such as Magical Cat in Tiger & Bunny 2, Misha Necron in The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Romin Kirishima in Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, Hikari Momoyama from Kiratto Pri☆Chan, Natsume from Deca-Dence, Melida Angel from Assassins Pride, Hisame from To Your Eternity, and Futaba Igarashi from My Senpai Is Annoying, among others. She also recently voiced Makima in Chainsaw Man and Annette in Spy Classroom.
She gave up the role of Setsuna Yūki/Nana Nakagawa in Love Live. Kusunoki and Kusunoki’s talent agency have reached this decision after consulting with Kusuoki’s health condition and how difficult it would be for her to resume live concert activities. Kusunoki ended his activities as a character on March 31.
Kusunoki explains on her website that since around spring 2021, her body has been sore and numb. In September, Kusunoki was diagnosed with the genetic condition Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (joint form). Doctors have declared her recovery is low and the disease may progress more severely, and advised Kusunoki not to engage in excessive exercise that can burden the body.
