A new Unreal Engine 5 video gives an idea of the possible gameplay of the upcoming Wolverine game from the Insomniac development team.
Wolverine is currently in development.
The latest video from YouTube channel TeaserPlay visualizes possible gameplay of Insomniac’s upcoming title Wolverine. Last year, Insomniac surprised the world by not only revealing Spider-Man 2 but also announcing a game project about Wolverine in the same presentation. Details about Insomniac’s Werewolf game are scarce at the moment, with no games from the project introduced to date.
All that’s been shown about Insomniac’s Wolverine game so far is a brief intro that shows Wolverine, aka Logan, sitting at a bar. Wolverine then extends her adamantium claws, and the teaser ends abruptly. Despite the trailer’s short length, fans ripped it apart in search of clues, and they found hints regarding The Incredible Hulk in the process.
Insomniac hasn’t announced anything about its Wolverine game since its initial announcement, and so TeaserPlay has warmed up with the new video. TeaserPlay, for those who may not be familiar with the channel, they create concept videos for real and hypothetical video games, showcasing what projects might look like if they were made using the Unreal Engine 5. The latest video is all about Wolverine, using the images from the official trailer as a backdrop.
In the TeaserPlay video, fans can see an idea for the title screen of the game Wolverine, which transitions to the bar scene. However, instead of the ending scene, it shows Logan getting up and leaving. The camera then switches to the close-up perspective that many third-person games of this type use. Some interesting symbols pop up on the HUD, although it’s not clear what information they are supposed to convey to the player.
The video ends when Logan approaches an individual standing in the middle of town. It is unclear who this person is, but it is implied that there will be some kind of conflict between the characters. Unfortunately, the video ends before showing Wolverine’s claws or revealing exactly what happens when he makes his way to the mysterious figure in town.
Wolverine fans may have to ponder this Unreal Engine 5 concept video for quite some time, as it’s still unclear when exactly new information about Insomniac’s Wolverine game will appear. Currently, the studio is busy working on Spider-Man 2, which is expected to launch at some point next year. The highly anticipated sequel introduces the iconic villain Venom.
