After Rogue was eliminated from Worlds 2022, Rekkles made some comments about the gap between East and West in the game of League of Legends.
Europe’s only hope – Rogue has officially said goodbye to Worlds 2022 after a devastating loss to JD Gaming. This defeat is also the end for the Western region at the tournament when there are no representatives left to continue the journey to conquer Summoner’s Cup. In addition to Rogue, all the remaining representatives showed weak performance and then were eliminated from the Group Stage.
The poor performance of the representatives from the West is also a sign that the gap between them and the East, especially China and Korea, is widening. Recently, Reekles pointed to a number of things that have led to this large gap, including the pool of champions or the individual skills of players in regions.
“There are so many little things that make this big difference. They (LCK and LPL) both have excellent individual skills, almost I feel like they play well with any champion chosen in the match” – Former Fnatic AD carry.
While talking about the differences between players from different regions, Rekkles used the phrase “unforced errors”, which can be understood as mistakes made by players in the game despite not receiving any pressure. to any opponent in the same lane or another enemy. In Rekkles’ view, players from the West often make this kind of mistake in every game they play.
“The most basic thing is that these errors do not come from the enemy being more dominant than them but they still make the wrong decisions, or play their wrong role in the teamfight. I think our Western players make these mistakes more often than their Eastern counterparts.”
There are many regions in the East where their teams rise to the top in professional Leagues. “There are a lot of little things that lead to this, from picks and bans, individual skill, team coordination, and if you combine all of those issues.. it becomes a huge gap. ” – Reekles shared.
