The first images of Yakuza 8 were released during a tour of MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura’s studio Ryu Ga Gotoku.
Back in October 2021, publisher SEGA confirmed that they are developing a new Yakuza game with the temporary name Yakuza 8. After a long wait, fans of the series have finally seen it. The first images of the game through a 15-minute video shared by Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura.
Specifically, during his visit to his Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, martial artist Mikuru Asakura was warmly welcomed by SEGA president Haruki Satomi and Ryu Ga Gotoku studio president Masayoshi Yokoyama. They also directly invited Mikuru to participate in the game and immediately received an enthusiastic yes. In a later talk, studio president Ryu Ga Gotoku also confirmed that in addition to Yakuza 8, his team is working on another unannounced game.
