The issue also includes a special booklet “Message to Kentarou Miura” and a poster of “famous scenes” from the manga.
The editorial staff at Young Animal added in the statement that they have read all the letters from Japan and are monitoring and grateful to the fans.
Volume 41 of the manga will publish on the 24th. The release will come in both regular and special editions, the latter of which will include special cloth art (see right) and a movie CD. Miura drew the canvas artwork that will adorn the special edition of the 41st volume, and it is also key visuals for the Berserk art exhibition also opening this Friday in Sunshine City, Tokyo. The CD will feature the return of the anime cast and depict the pivotal chapter of the “Awakening” manga, which has never been seen in any anime adaptation of the manga. Makoto Fukami will also return to pen the script for the drama CD.
Miura died on May 6 from acute aortic dissection. He lived to be 54 years old. Since its publication via Miura, authors in Japan and around the world have offered their condolences.

Miura published a one-shot version of the Berserk manga in Hakusensha magazine Monthly Comicomi in 1988. He published the Berserk series in Hakusensha in Monthly Animal House magazine in 1989, and the series continued in Hakusensha as Young Animal magazine until now. The series has more than 40 million copies in circulation. Hakusensha published the manga’s 40th volume in Japan on September 28, 2018. Dark Horse Comics published the same volume in North America on October 8, 2019.
The manga inspired an anime series in 1997, as well as an anime trilogy from 2012 to 2013. Another anime television series premiered in Japan in July 2016 and the second half. of the new series premiered in April 2017.
