The official website for The Rising of The Shield Hero season 2 announced the anime’s April 6 premiere on Thursday.
Kodoani.com – The anime will premiere on AT-X on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 p.m. (9:00 a.m. EDT), and the anime will also premiere on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi and BS11
Kana Hanazawa joins the cast as Ost Horai.
Masato Jinbo (Chaos; Child, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!) will direct the second season at Kinema Citrus and DR MOVIE, replacing Takao Abo.
Keigo Koyanagi (Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars) is in charge of composing the series.
Masahiro Suwa is again adapting Seira Minami’s original character designs for animation. Kevin Penkin is returning to composing music.
MADKID will perform the opening song “Bring Back”, and Chiai Fujikawa will perform the ending song “Yuzurenai.”
The anime was originally slated to premiere in October 2021, and Crunchyroll is also slated to stream the anime alongside the broadcast in Japan. Crunchyroll announced in 2019 that the anime would have a second and a third season.
One Peace Books is publishing the original novel series and an adaptation of Aiya Kyū’s manga in English. The publisher describes the first volume of the novel:

Anime series The Rising of The Shield Hero premiered with a two-hour special in January 2019 and lasted 25 episodes. Crunchyroll aired when the anime aired in Japan. Crunchyroll premiered the first dub episode at Crunchyroll Expo in September 2018 with guests from the anime.
