Dragon Ball has recovered a rare color Shonen Jump cover featuring Trunks and Goten as children, depicted standing alongside several other late Golden Age characters from the magazine.
The official Dragon Ball website recently released the impressive weekly double issue Shonen Jump 1994 issues 36/37 featuring Goten and Trunks along with a number of other popular manga characters from the early to mid aughts. 90, such as KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops' Kankichi Ryotsu , Hareluya Hibino's Hareluya II Boy and Hanamichi Sakuragi's Slam Dunk. The image was unearthed as part of the Toriyama Archive – a regular column where Toriyama's rare works are re-released for 24 hours only. Readers can see images and descriptions below.

Little boy Gohan has the opportunity to meet the lovely robot girl Arale in the movie Dragon Ball Z x Dr. Slump by the late Akira Toriyama.
The cover is described: “Front cover. Released on August 9, 1994. This cover features all the popular Shonen Jump main characters of the time getting ready for summer! You can see Goten and Trunks using Buku-jutsu (levitation technique) to fly next to a yacht! With their hair blowing in the wind, you can almost feel how fast they are going!”
Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho and more represent the golden age of Shonen Jump
The year 1994 marked the peak of Shonen Jump magazine's sales. Dragon Ball (260 million), KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops (156.5 million) and Slam Dunk (170 million) alone have sold nearly 600 million copies in circulation, all of which easily rank among the best titles in circulation. Best-selling Shonen Jump and manga ever. Naturally, since three of these, along with Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho were all published simultaneously, this period has earned Shonen Jump the nickname “Golden Age.” A CBR article debating how Shonen Jump is dying highlights how at its peak in 1994, the magazine sold 6.53 million copies. This number has now dropped below 1.5 million copies as Shonen Jump continues to transition to digital publishing.
