Remake of the first game in Gust’s RPG Atelier series is coming to Switch, PS4, PS5, Steam
Kodoani.com – KOEI Tecmo America posted a trailer with English subtitles for Atelier Marie Remake ~The Alchemist of Salburg~, the Atelier Marie remake of Gust’s long-running Atelier RPG series. The trailer reveals the game’s release date on July 13 – the same release date in Japan. (KOEI Tecmo America listed July 17 in some of the original documents, but later admitted that it was a typo.)
The game will release for Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam). This will be the first time the game has been released outside of Japan.
The original game Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg was released for PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1997. The game was released for PC in 2000 and on the Dreamcast in 2001. PlayStation 2 version was released in 2005. KOEI Tecmo Games released this game for smartphones in 2005. February 2018.
The game marked the beginning of Gust’s Atelier series of games, with key features including predominantly female protagonists (only six of the games featured male protagonists), a chi themed around the protagonists’ alchemy talents and the slice of life world, a sequel to Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (Ryza no Atelier 3 ~Owari no Renkinjutsushi to Himitsu no Kagi ~), will release for PS4, PS5 and Switch on March 23, and on PC on March 24.
