Everyone's favorite slime-centric Isekai finally gets a full-length game in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Isekai Chronicles, out now. Developed by ZOC and published by Bandai Namco, players will be able to experience some of the anime's most pivotal moments and embark on new adventures in Central World.
While That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime had a video game adaptation before, it was a mobile gotcha and it's still up in the air whether those games can be considered full video games in the more traditional sense. However, this new version of Reincarnated as a Slime is a 2D side-scrolling hack and slash game with light social simulation, RPG, and city-building mechanics, marking the first time players have been able to experience a full Slime game with a DLC roadmap to boot. Via Game Spark, the latest gameplay trailer, which is set to release on August 7, 2024, by Bandai Namco Entertainment, can be seen below.

Reincarnated as a Slime: Isekai Chronicles Reveals New Trailer
Isekai Chronicles is a 2D side-scrolling hack and slash game similar in style to Vanillaware classics like Odin's Sphere and Dragons Crown. Players can choose three characters from the anime's large cast to join the fight, assisted by two support characters who will provide the heroes with super-powerful attacks or passive buffs. Rimuru can learn new techniques using the social simulation aspects of the game, where the Demon Lord can spend time with his teammates, playing in a visual novel-like style. The game is fully voiced in Japanese, with subtitles available for international players.
Outside of combat, players will spend time in the Jura Tempest Federation and engage in the unique city-building aspect of the game. This is actually a feature found in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Iseaki Memories, the mobile gatcha game. Players will be tasked with growing the Jura Tempest Federation from a small village into a sprawling town. New buildings that are constructed will give characters unique powers and attract new characters to join your party. This section allows players to freely roam around the 3D environment, with Rimuri able to take on additional side quests by interacting with the town's residents.
